Prayer Walking

The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.”  (Genesis 13:14-17)

God made a promise to Abraham, but he and his descendants were required to claim this promise. God has also made a promise to America, but it has been up to the American settlers to walk it out. Though we have failed to do so God has not forgotten us. He is still asking us to walk off the land for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are very privileged to live in the area of many historic and sacred places in the history of our nation. Our prayer walking team has visited and prayed at these historic places numerous times. We prayed for revival and restoration of our spiritual foundation. God is answering these prayers as well as those of many others.

Much could be said about prayer walking. Here is an excellent place to get started: Prayer Walking.

Let us just got out and do it, walking our neighborhoods and reclaiming them for God in prayer. There are no shortages of sacred places. Let us pray that they may all be sacred, especially the ones in our neighborhood. The enemy has taken much territory, but by God’s grace and help we will take it back. Amen.
