Monday in the Second Week of Lent

Keeping a Holy Lent?

A great danger of keeping a holy Lent might be our notions of holiness. Are we better than those who are not keeping Lent as we think they should?

Daniel was a great prayer warrior for Israel. Though he stood head and shoulders above his fellow Israelites in term of the way he kept the faith, he did not set himself above anyone. In captivity, he prayed effectively for Israel because he identified with the sins of his nation. In humility he approached God with a repentant heart.

There are telltale signs which suggest that we might not have a repentant heart. One is that we judge others.
