My posts are homilies which are presented chronologically throughout the church year. The latest homilies are at the top of the screen with the homily for the coming Sunday near the top, if not on top. (For planning purposes upcoming homilies may be posted ahead of schedule, especially when the liturgical season is about to change.)
Past homilies trail down the screen. By scrolling down you will be uncovering each of them in succession. (Press “Load more posts” if you scrolled down to the bottom of the screen and still need to uncover more homilies.) Homilies may be located more quickly by the calendar on the right. Hover your pointer over a particular date and you will see which homily it is. Press on the date and you will go directly to that particular homily. All that homilies will be found by date on the calendar on the right as appointed by the lectionary. (There is an exception: Upcoming homily will not be listed under their scheduled dates immediately. They will be listed under their scheduled dates when those dates have arrived. In the meantime, they will be listed under the current calendar date.)
You may search for a particular homily in several ways. One way is to search by month and date. Simply scroll back through the calendar months on the right by the small arrows at the bottom of the calendar. As you do this you will isolate all the given homilies for a particular month. They will be listed by title in reverse chronological order.
Another way to search is by Season of the Church Year. These Seasons are listed across the top of this blog: Home – Advent – Christmas – Epiphany – Lent – Easter – Pentecost. As you press one of the Seasons you will isolate all that homilies for that particular Season. Again, the homilies will be presented in reverse chronological order within the Seasons. (Homilies for certain Holy Days observances are listed within their respective Seasons.) To get back to a display of all the homilies simply press the Home button.
Homilies may be searched by lectionary title, scripture reference, and by keyword or topic. Simply enter your query into the search box under the calendar and press “Search.” Search results will always be listed in reverse chronological order in case there are multiple answers to your query.
Notice that under the title of each homily is a horizontal list of all the appointed readings from the lectionary. By pressing on anyone of the underlined citations of scripture listed you will be presented with the entire scripture cited. The translation of the scriptures you see may not be your favorite. You may wish to consult other translations online by visiting BibleGateway.com or similar websites.
This blog is a work in progress as is its author. Your comments or criticisms are very much appreciated. If you have enjoyed any of the homilies please share them with your friends by pressing the Share button or the Like button at the bottom left.
